If you can answer yes to two or more of the following questions, you may want to take steps to improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) of your home:
Executive Air Duct Cleaning has partnered up with Abatement Technologies, the leader in advanced air duct cleaning equipment and air purification products so that we can provide you with a comprehensive solution to air quality concerns.
Air Duct Cleaning: The first step in obtaining healthier air is to have your air ducts professionally cleaned. We utilize Abatement Technologies equipment which is the most advanced in the industry. The frequency in which air ducts should be cleaned is generally accepted to be between 1 and 7 years and is determined by multiple environmental factors as well as individual health issues or concerns. Visit our Air Duct Cleaning page to see the benefits of our cleaning processes and equipment.
Air Filtration: Once you've had your air ducts cleaned, the second step in obtaining healthier air is to evaluate your current air filtration system and determine if it adequately removes airborne particulates (see 'How does your furnace filter stack up?' ). HEPA filtration which is utilized in the Abatement Technologies products is clearly the most effective method of air filtration and in addition to healthier air, it will reduce the frequency of future air duct cleanings.
Central Air Purifiers from Abatement Technologies are installed in the HVAC return. The high-performance CAP units incorporate tried and true methods, plus the latest innovations in air filtration technology. Some models combine as many as four or five different air purification technologies for maximum effectiveness against a broad spectrum of airborne contaminants. Few if any other products can make that claim. All CAP models are Class II medical devices certified by Environmental Testing Laboratories to meet applicable UL electrical safety standards.
All CAP models are Class II Medical Devices and Safety Certified.
Featuring several stages of filtration, including:
Standard Filter: The standard 1" thick furnace filter is less than 5% efficient. It is designed to protect the furnace blower, heat exchanger and air conditioning coil. They are not designed to protect people.
Electrostatic Air Filter: Electrostatic air filters use static electricity that is generated as air flows over fibrous plastic media. The media becomes charged, attracting dust particles. Electrostatic air filters rate about 10-15% efficiency.
Electronic Air Cleaner: Electronic air cleaners or electrostatic precipitators use high voltages to charge dust particles and attract them to oppositely charged plates. When clean, an electronic air cleaner can be rated at 90% efficiency, but their efficiency declines quickly as the plates fill with dust. It is quite common for the efficiency to be only 20% after only a few days of operation.
Media Type Filter: Extended-surface filters are designed from media that will capture particulates and is then pleated to provide greater dirt holding capacity. Media type filters are in the 25%-45% range.
HEPA Filter: The ultimate filter! HEPA or absolute filters are 99.97% efficient by either the atmospheric-spot-dust test or the DOP smoke-penetration test at a 0.3 micron size. These filters capture the "lung damaging" particles.
A study conducted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found that indoor exposure to harmful air pollutants could be up to 100 times greater than outdoors. The EPA now classifies indoor air quality as one of our most important environmental concerns.
According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (part of the National Institute of Health), indoor airborne allergens and pollutants can trigger a wide range of symptoms including:
Our advanced Abatement Technologies central air purifiers (CAP) remove airborne pollutants before the air is supplied to your living space, providing relief for problems such as:
